May latest Substack post discusses the government’s stance on Brexit. Ministers refuse to seek a new deal that would restore frictionless trade with the EU. They think that a big reason why Labour won this year’s election was theit policy of very limited adjustments to Brexit – stance that helped to regain lolst Labour voters in the Red Wall, and which they must stick to now they are in power. I have explored the numbers, which do not support that view of how Labour won the election.
